Ask any solo SaaS founder where their first 100 users came from and Reddit is near the top of the list. Search 'how to promote saas on reddit' and seven of the top ten results are Reddit threads of founders asking the same question. The problem is that Reddit marketing done badly gets you banned: subreddit bans tend to be permanent, and shadowbans hide your comments without telling you. The current crop of AI Reddit marketing tools mostly solves the wrong half. They find keyword mentions and generate replies at volume, and at least one sells posting from rented high-karma accounts at $4 a comment. The open lane is the opposite product: a copilot for solo SaaS founders that reads each subreddit's self-promotion rules, watches your own account's participation balance, and drafts a disclosed, genuinely useful reply that you post from your own account. Fewer replies, no bans, compounding reputation.

§01

Why now

AI made writing a Reddit reply free, so every lead-gen tool now generates them at volume — and Reddit communities have noticed. HN commenters describe searching their employer's name on Reddit and finding plausible-looking tool recommendations that make no sense on a close read. Moderators respond with stricter self-promotion rules and faster bans. That pushes the value from 'more replies' to 'replies that survive': the founder who posts five disclosed, rule-compliant answers a week keeps the channel, and the one who posts fifty templated ones loses it. A copilot built around ban-safety is the product the next wave of solo founders will look for after their first ban.

Market gap

Reddit marketing tools split into two camps. Monitors (Syften at $29.95–$119.95/mo, free extensions like Redplus) tell you where the conversation is and stop there. Reply generators (ReplyAgent at $79/mo, plus a long tail of Show HN agents) draft at volume, and some sell posting through rented accounts. Neither camp owns the founder's real risk: losing the channel. No tool treats each subreddit's rules, the founder's own account history, and disclosure as first-class inputs. The gap is a $29/mo copilot for solo SaaS founders that says 'don't post here today' as often as it drafts a reply.

ReplyAgent pricing — posting from managed high-karma accounts

$79/mo plan generates replies; posting from 'authentic, high-karma Reddit accounts' costs $4 per comment or $8 per post on top. The market is renting accounts — the ban-safe lane is open.

Execution plan

Week 1-2: thread discovery over a fixed list of SaaS-relevant subreddits, an LLM rules parser that turns each sidebar into structured allow/deny rules, and a reply drafter that always includes a founder disclosure line. Stripe, $29/mo single tier. Week 3: ship the free rules checker as the lead magnet; answer 'how to promote saas on reddit' threads with it (disclosed). Week 4-8: account-balance check (own-link ratio across your recent history), click tracking via UTM links, Studio tier. Month 3: content SEO on the long-tail 'reddit marketing tool' and 'how to market saas on reddit' searches, where Reddit threads, not vendors, own the top results.
